Sandra Akello is a 20-year-old single woman from Patongo Town Council in Agago District. She was profiled by the Community Development Officer and recruited into the project. After capacity building in group management and VSLAs, Sandra was placed at Tek Ka Kwo Beauty Saloon for training in hairdressing. During engagement meetings with the private sector in Agago District, she was offered employment at Mama Jerry Beauty Saloon, where she earns UGX 160,000 per month. Sandra has learned different hairdressing designs, helping her draw a wide customer base. She can now support her family with basic needs and other necessities.
