Goal

To develop, implement, and validate innovative, scalable, and sustainable technologies aimed at supporting the nutrition performance of local food systems in Africa, while strengthening agro-biodiversity, food diversity, and healthy diet diversity.

The project works through food hubs and partner institutions to strengthen local food systems, improve nutrition performance, support agro-biodiversity, and promote diverse healthy diets.

Objectives
  1. Develop and implement open organisational innovations for local food supply chains.
  2. Develop, implement, and validate open technological innovations for crop and fish farming systems.
  3. Develop, implement, and validate open technological innovations for food processing.
  4. Disseminate and communicate innovations, strengthen and diffuse balanced healthy diets, and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition.

Target population

1,220 farmers organised in three food hubs: Kamuli - 200, Nakaseke - 200, and Kajansi and Masaka - 820.
