Goal

To reduce micronutrient malnutrition and improve dietary intakes of vitamin A and iron among beneficiary households through enhanced production of vitamin A-rich sweet potato and iron-rich beans, increased consumption and utilisation of biofortified foods, and strengthened partnerships for mainstreaming biofortification.

Meals for Nutrition in Uganda supported beneficiary households to produce and consume vitamin A-rich sweet potato and iron-rich beans as practical food-based solutions to micronutrient malnutrition.

Objectives
  1. Create public awareness about orange-fleshed sweet potato and its importance.
  2. Enhance farmers' knowledge on production of biofortified crops.
  3. Mitigate incidences of iron and vitamin A deficiencies among beneficiary households.
