Mr. Waiswa Richard

We have food at home, and I started a fuel-selling business to boost our household income.

Mr. Waiswa Richard is one of the 2018A beneficiaries of VEDCO's MENU project in Luuka District. He received half a bag of orange-fleshed sweet potato vines, NASPOT 8, and one kilogram of NARO Bean 1 iron-rich beans, which he planted. After training in best agronomic practices, Richard applied what he learned and achieved excellent harvests. His household consumed the OSP roots and iron-rich beans, which motivated him to plant again. In the first season of 2019, Richard procured 18 bags of OSP vines and planted two acres. As a result, he sold more than 10 bags of OSP roots at UGX 90,000 per bag. Richard says his household now has food at home, and he started a fuel-selling business to boost income. He thanks VEDCO for operating in his community.
