Isiiko Hussein is a 23-year-old married father of one and a member of Gemakmwinho Youth Group in Butende Parish. Through chili production, he earned more than UGX 500,000 from sales to KK after harvesting from his quarter-acre garden. The income enabled him to buy building materials and start constructing a new modern three-room house, moving from his previous single-roomed house. Isiiko says it had always been his dream to construct a bigger home, but finding enough starting capital was difficult. With the progress from chili farming, he now plans to expand his garden to half an acre.
