Charles Ojok is a 26-year-old from Patongo Town Council in Agago District. His Local Council One chairperson reached out to him to join the project. Charles decided to pursue shoemaking because of his disability and was placed at Vardy's Vision Enterprise for three months, where he acquired skills in shoemaking and repair. He was later supported with start-up kits to begin his own shoemaking workshop. On average, Charles earns UGX 300,000 per month. His earnings support food, clothes for his siblings, and reinvestment back into the business. He also saves in his group and accesses credit to purchase materials for the workshop. His future plan is to train other youth in the community, showing that disability is not inability.
