Speaker of Parliament visits VEDCO Projects. July/7th/2011

The Speaker of Parliament Honorable Rebecca Kadaga laid a foundation stone for the establishment of the Girl’s Dormitory on 07th/07/2011. While addressing the people of Namasagali, the Speaker highlighted the need to educate a girl child and accredited the efforts incurred by VEDCO towards the Improvement of education in the Region. She urged parents to supplement on the efforts by providing food to the children and to provide other requirements to complete the structures established. She was however concerned with high rate of school dropout in Kamuli district and warned the parents to be considerate about the future of their children.
In his remarks, the Executive Director of VEDCO Mr. Henry Kizito Musoke noted that it’s VEDCO’s desire that people especially farming communities live in dignity He pledged VEDCO’s support to the farming communities not only in Kamuli but also in other parts of the country and the region provided there is financial support from partners. 
He commended Iowa State University of USA, Makerere University and Kamuli District Local Government for the working relationship that has enabled VEDCO to support communities in Kamuli beyond household food production to school feeding programmes and water security.
