VEDCO IS ORGANISING THE 17TH CONFERENCE OF PARTIES (COP) IN, SOUTH AFRICA

VEDCO under Participatory Ecological Land use Management – Uganda (PELUM Uganda) in partnership with Climate Action Network – Uganda (CAN-U), are organizing a pre-COP consensus building meeting between the Government delegation and that of Civil Society.
The 17th Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) will take place in Durban, South Africa from the 28th of November to the 9th of December 2011.

VEDCO TO DISRIBUTE FOOD AID IN PADER DISTRICT
VEDCO in partnership with HEIFER International- Uganda, APT-UK and Comic Relief are to distribute Food Aid to the people of Pader Sub County and Pader town in Pader district. The Aid is in response to the severe drought that has previously had a drastic effect to the people of the area as their gardens dried out due to the drought.

According to the project coordinator Mr. Bwayo Steven, the distribution is to start on 3rd December and last for 6 months targeting 307 households in the two areas principally to facilitate them cop-up with food security as they grow food to prolong them in the nearby future as given in VEDCO’s mission of empowering small/medium holder farmers for food and nutrition security, agricultural development.
